The “House” Tour
For the lovers of creaky floors, wraparound porches, and places with stories to tell—this itinerary is all about spots inside old houses right here in Black Mountain. Because sometimes the best memories are made where others once lived theirs.
Day 1
Start Your Trip at the Visitor’s Center
Snap a picture in the “Big Red Rocking Chair” out front and let everyone know you’ve reached the “Front Porch Western NC.” After you get all the ‘tea’ on what’s going on in town, wander the streets for a bit.
Snack at La Guinguette
A place to drink, dance, and eat, Guinguettes were a popular social gathering spot in 19th and 20th century Parisian suburbs. Stop for crepes and empanadas while exploring the town! View their website: La Guinguette
Dinner @ Black Mountain Bistro
Formerly the Claudia McGraw Tea Room, the bistro is locally owned by natives of the Swannanoa and Black Mountain area for five generations. Enjoy classic, American bistro plates in a cozy setting. View their website: Black Mountain Bistro
Day 2
Farmhouse Breakfast at Louise’s Kitchen
Built in 1904, they have kept as much of the original house as possible, which means a unique layout. Enjoy dining on the wrap-around porch year around. If you’re in the mood for a boozy brunch, their mimosas are huge! View their website: Louise’s Kitchen
Decompress at Sabbath Wellness
Private hot/cold therapy spa: a sauna, cold plunge + a cozy space to lounge, stretch, or rest. Just over half a mile from Peri, the suite is attached to the owner’s home with a private entrance + kitchenette for guest's use only - make yourself at home + enjoy a restorative experience! Live Music + Pizza at Peri
We’d be remiss if we didn’t encourage you to spend an evening at our house! Check the Peri schedule for Saturday evening live music and grab the best Wood Fired Pizza in town at Abbiocco Pizzeria Food Truck.
Day 3
Brunch at Bush Farm House
Also, a fantastic dinner option, but we’ve included the brunch for space purposes 😉 - The Bush is a South African inspired bistro that will dazzle you. The owner-chef originally lived upstairs and opened the main floor + backyard to guests! View their website: Bush Farm House
Unwind in an Early 1900s Bungalow
Built in the early 1900s for two sisters who lived there their entire lives, Black Mountain Massage and Wellness is now home to the most inviting wellness atmosphere! Be sure to check out their “Featured Artist” gift shop when you’re there.
